The Living Bacteria in your Body

Some people may know that there are helpful bacteria cells in their digestive system. But a lot of people do not realize how much living bacteria are actually in there. Your gut bacteria cells outnumber body cells by about 10 : 1, meaning there are literally 10x more bacteria cells in your body than actual cells. People should realize that there are ways to harm the bacteria in our bodies and the side effects that will stem from the damage.

In the human body, 80% of your immune system is located in your digestive system; the immune system gives you a better change of fighting of all diseases. But the immune system needs the help of bacteria to run optimally.  When bacteria in our digestive system are hurt, so is our immune system which makes us more susceptible to disease.  Ways the bacteria are harmed will be: eating processed foods, consuming sugar, taking medications, and our stress level, all can damage the bacteria in the body. The symptoms’ that can be seen from damaging bacteria include: fatigue, depression, irritability, headaches, muscle weakness, recurrent UTI, athletes foot, persistent heartburn, indigestion, constipation, swollen joints, sore throat, Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), ulcers, eczema, and Rheumatoid Arthritis, along with others.

Once the bacteria are damaged there are two main ways of improving it. The first way is to eat unprocessed and unpasteurized fermented foods. The reason the food must be unprocessed and unpasteurized is these process’ kill the beneficial bacteria contained in the food. The most popular fermented foods are: sauerkraut, pickles, yoghurt, kefir, miso, tempeh, and olives. There are also recipes for almost any food online and instructions on how to ferment them.

The other option besides fermented foods is to take a probiotic. Most probiotic supplements contain many different strands of helpful bacteria. These products will help maintain the bacteria in your gut and even improve them. One of the most important things with picking out a probiotic is make sure they are living. Most products that contain living bacteria will be located in the refrigeration section of local market or clinics that provide them.

Once your bacteria reach an optimal state you will see positive improvements in mood and mental health, reduce risk of allergies, will help control Asthma, eliminate toxins, reduce inflammation, produce vitamins, absorb minerals, and reduce inflammation, and even boost weight loss.
