Ever noticed a it starting in your arm, hand, leg or foot that you either woke up with or flared up on its own? Wondering what caused it, will it get worse, and how do I get rid of it? <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Numbness\nin the arm, wrist, hand, leg, foot, or toes is happening quite often\ntoday.&nbsp; Most people believe the numbness is stemming from either the\nextremity but actually the root cause of your pain can be coming from your neck\nor back.&nbsp; One possible cause of extremity pain can be from siting or\ncomputer work. &nbsp; In which most necks are in a flexed in a position that\ncan cause increase tension on the nerves that exit the back of the neck and can\ncause numbness down into your shoulder, arm, hand, and\/or wrist. &nbsp;This\ncondition is called Radiculitis. &nbsp; The same thing can happen in the lower\nback from chronic flexion and compression of the lower back that happens when\nwe sit all day at the computer. &nbsp; When you get numbness or tingling down\nyour legs and feet this condition is called Sciatica.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The\nnerves that control your arm and hand exit your spine from the neck and upper\nback. The nerves that control your legs and feet exit your spine from your\nlower back and pelvis. &nbsp;When there is an encroachment or increased\npressure on those nerves, the nerve itself cannot function properly. This can\ncause not only numbness, but also a change in muscle tone in the arm or leg and\nstiffness in the joints themselves. &nbsp;Without correction of this pressure\nthe numbness can get worse and more severe over time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Different\nlevels of nerve encroachment will cause problems in different areas of your arm\nand or leg.&nbsp; This is why when dealing with numbness it is important to\ntake an x-ray to see where the cause of the pain may be coming from.
