Lebron James’ Performance
Was Lebron James’ Performance diet related? A lot of people are talking right now about how Lebron James is able to compete for as long as he does in the NBA finals. One wonders if it is due to Lebron’s new diet in which he has switched from a heavy processed diet to an organic whole food diet which is decreasing the amount of pesticides in his body and increasing the amount of anti oxidants.
A lot of these athletes’ are making this exact switch from seeing an increase in performance and also a decrease in injuries and time lost from training and games. The list of athletes’ include: Lebron James, Ray Allen, Nell Stephenson, Dave Zabriskie, and Timothy Olson. The reason this switch is important is for longevity of athletes’ and their bodies. When first competing most athletes’ don’t noticed how a diet can improve their performance because early in their career their bodies can make up for the stress of the diet, example Micahel Phelps. As their career moves on they see how the change can improve their performance in competition and rehabilitation.
Here is how to tell the differences between processed foods and real foods.
Real Food:
- Variable Quality, Taste, and Texture
- Spoils Quickly
- Is Authentically Flavorful and Colorful
Processed Food Products:
- Uniform Quality, Taste, and Texture
- Stays “fresh” for weeks, months, or years
- Flavored and Colored with Chemicals
- Contains artificial colors, flavors, preservatives, fillers, nano technology, and more
If pro athletes’ are making the switch it is time the rest of us do to, because a performance improvement doesn’t have to be sports related it can be feeling less sluggish in the morning or throughout the day, decrease anxiety, improved sleep and better mood overall. Being able to switch to more real food and less processed food with immediately improves your diet and how your body functions overall which will help with a wide array of symptoms you could be going through day to day. Real food helps benefit your body while processed food products make the body more difficult to function at is optimal levels.
Start by eating more produce throughout the day. A simple change of eating one or more fruits and vegetables per day will make you crave less processed foods and also keep you fuller for longer. This will make you healthier and function better from your first day.
