The 1st Cervical Vertebrae
The Atlas aka “The 1st Cervical Vertebrae”
The atlas is the first vertebra in the spinal column and sits directly below the skull; besides being responsible for: A majority of our ability to turn our head from left to right, causing headaches, and tight muscles under the skull. The atlas is responsible for controlling much more.
The atlas helps control:
- The Brain
- Blood Supply to Head
- Bones of the Face
- Inner & Middle Ear
- Sympathetic Nervous System (Fight & Flight) “stress”
Since your atlas controls so much, what would be some possible signs of the atlas going out of position?
- High Blood Pressure
- Chronic Tiredness
- Insomnia
- Migraines
- Ear Conditions
- Nervousness
- Head Colds
- Nervous Breakdowns
- Dizziness
- Headaches
- Amnesia
These conditions can all be helped if the atlas is out of place and is put back into position by a licensed Chiropractor. If you or anyone you know has any of these conditions, or even if you notice that your head can not turn one direction over the other, you or they need to get check by a Chiropractor before these conditions get worse.
